Library Aides - Welcome to the Library! Here are some links that you will use.
Access to materials is one of the most important aspects of a Library. These first lessons will help you understand how the Library is set up and where the books are shelved.

First Day Lessons -
- Using the EHS Library Floor Plan, fill in all of the sections of the EHS Library. Turn in the completed Floor plan.
- Now to the computer! Click on HeLIOS - Choose Audio Narration or Text Only. Do Units 6 & 7. You may repeat any quiz until you earn a perfect score.
- Go to Mr. Breitspecher's Dewey Challenge website - Scroll down the page to see how he describes the 10 Dewey sections. Study how each section is different. Answer all 25 questions.
- Ask Mrs. Herron for the Dewey Decimal Chart and the Scavenger Hunt. When completed, hand to Mrs. Herron.
- Back to the computer. Now let's practice shelving! Click on Order in the Library.
- You will need to sign in with your first and last name (these show up on your certificate) and pick an animal.
- Please work on the Shelving and the Reordering sections. They become harder as you move up in the levels.
- Print your completed certificates for Levels 4, 8, 9 and 10 only. Give your certificates to Mrs. Herron.

- You are required to read 2 books per semester and submit an on-line review for each book using the form below. You will rate the book with stars and your comments about the book must be short, hitting the highlights, to entice someone else to read it. To complete the assignment, open 2 windows on your computer: the form below and MS Word.
